Jean Baptiste Fauvelet
Jean-Baptiste Fauvelet (born June 9, 1819 in Bordeaux , † March 14, 1883 in Chartres ) was a French genre painter and lithographer as well as an art teacher.
Jean-Baptiste Fauvelet was a pupil of the painter Pierre Lacour (1778-1859) and imitator of Ernest Meissonier .
He became a drawing teacher at Chartres College.
Fauvelet made his debut at the Salon de Paris in 1845 and exhibited there until 1870. He then suffered paralysis and was unable to work. In 1875 his previously unsold works were auctioned off.
He received a 2nd class medal in the Salon of 1848.
