Life

Jean Claude Sassine started playing the piano at the age of 10. After initially taking classical piano lessons, he continued his self-study and performed with a punk band and as a bar pianist. Born in Solothurn, he became internationally known, who improvised in close coordination to the point, through collaboration with European actors, dancers, authors and cabaret artists. In 1997 the first tours through Germany and Switzerland followed. In 2002 and 2003 the stage programs “Spiegelbild und Schatten” and “Einsames literary cabaret” were presented in Asia. As part of these tours, Sassine also gave workshops at universities. With his piano, Sassine explores the depths of words, sets surprising accents and turns text images into dynamic sound experiences. In 1999 the stage pianist was awarded the “Salzburg Bull” and in 2004 the “Swiss Cabaret Prize”.
