Jean Fenwick

Jean Fenwick , nee Jean Krauth , (born May 30, 1907 in Trinidad , † December 5, 1998 in Los Angeles ) was an actress .

Life

Fenwick was born in Trinidad as the daughter of a German chocolate manufacturer and his British wife. During the First World War , the family moved to Massachusetts . Her younger sister Marian Marsh was also an actress.

In the mid-1920s, Fenwick signed a contract with Paramount Pictures , later with FBO Pictures in Hollywood, and took the stage name Jean Morgan, which she later changed to Jean Fenwick. After many small roles, including 1933 in King Kong and the white woman , she played a major role in Mary Stuart for the first time in 1936 . Other small roles followed until Fenwick was able to take on a larger part again in King of the Vagabonds in 1938 . The following year, Scotland Yard issued an arrest warrant ; in 1941, Fenwick gave Countess Irene in Sky Raiders . In 1960, Fenwick, who was never allowed to play a leading role, played her last role in an episode of the television series Alcoa Presents: One Step Beyond .
