Jean Kapata

Jean Kapata (born December 25, 1960 ) is a Zambian politician of the Patriotic Front (PF).

Life

Jean Kapata worked as a nurse after training and was elected for the first time as a member of the National Assembly of Zambia for the Patriotic Front (PF) in 2006 and re-elected in 2011 and on August 11, 2016, where he represents the constituency of Mandevu .

After serving as Vice Minister for Community Development, Maternal and Child Health between September 2011 and March 2014, she was appointed Minister for Tourism and the Arts in his cabinet by President Michael Sata in March 2014 . After Sata's death on October 28, 2014, she retained the post of Minister for Chiefs and Traditional Affairs in the cabinet of his acting successor Guy Scott and in the cabinet of Edgar Lungu , who took over the office of President on January 25, 2015. During a government reshuffle in September 2016, President Lungu appointed her Minister for Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection in his cabinet.
