Jean Pierre Mustier

Jean Pierre Mustier (born January 18, 1961 in Chamalières , France ) is an investment banker and CEO of the UniCredit Group in Milan.

He studied at the École Polytechnique and the École des Mines in Paris and trained as a paratrooper with the French army .

From 1997 to 2009 he worked for the major French bank Société Générale and worked his way up to the bank's board of directors with positions in Paris, Philadelphia, Hong Kong, Tokyo and London. He had to leave Société Générale as he was the department head of Jérôme Kerviel , who lost 4.9 billion euros on the stock exchange. Mustier was also sentenced to a fine of 100,000 euros for insider trading .

He continued his career in Europe, including at UniCredit in Milan from 2011, but left the company at the end of 2014 and became a partner at the French financial investor Tikehau Capital in London from January 2015.
