Jeannette Miller (born August 2, 1944 in Santo Domingo ) is a Dominican poet and narrator, essayist , educator and art historian .

The daughter of the writer Fredy Miller Otero attended the Colegio Apostolado and the Colegio María Auxiliadora in Santo Domingo and studied at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), where she later also taught, at the Universidad Central del Este (UCE) and the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes (ENBA).

Along with other young authors such as Iván García , Miguel Alfonseca , Armando Almánzar Rodríguez , René del Risco Bermúdez and Jacques Viau , she belonged to the group of the Generación del 60 . In 1963 she joined the Arte y Liberación movement , a multidisciplinary group of writers, painters, sculptors, musicians and theater makers. She is the founder and board member of the Museo de Arte Moderno and the Casa del Escritor Dominicano .

Miller wrote reference works on the art history of the Dominican Republic (including the Historia de la Pintura , 1979) and monographs on Paul Guidicelli and Fernando Peña , among others , published art reviews in the magazines El Caribe and Hoy and the volumes of poetry El Viaje (1967), Formulas par vombatir el miedo (1977) and Fichas de identitad / Estadía (1987). In addition to many other awards, she received the Dominican National Prize for Literature in 2011.
