Jeff Lampkin

Jeff Lampkin (* 21st September 1961 in Youngstown , Ohio USA ) is a retired American boxer and world champion of the IBF in the cruiserweight division .

Lampkin was among the amateurs among other things in 1979 American light heavyweight champion .

Professional career

In the professional category , the 1.85 m tall American won his first 16 fights all by knockout and suffered his first bankruptcy in his 17th fight against the undefeated Willie Edwards. In 1988 he won the USBA belt with a technical knockout victory over Alfonso Ratliff .

On March 22nd in 1989 he boxed against Glenn McCrory for the IBF world championship and beat him in the third round by knockout. He defended this belt in the same year against the South African Siza Makathini (15-3) by heavy Knockout in round 8.

Lampkin played his last fight in 1997 against Exum Speight and won by technical knockout in the fourth round.
