Jeff Stone

Jeff Stone is an American author best known for his youth book series "The Five Companions".

Life

Jeff Stone grew up in Detroit and now lives in the American Midwest . He is married and has two children. He owns a python named 'Yokwan'. Stone, like his heroes in "The Five Companions", is an orphan . He was adopted as a child and has always had a strong desire to learn about his past. When he was 18 years old, he began looking for his birth mother, whom he found 15 years later. A year later he also found his birth father.

Like the people in his books, Stone practices martial arts. He wears the black belt in Shaolin Do Kung Fu and also trains in other disciplines to get ideas for his books. In 2005 he traveled to China with a Shaolin Do grandmaster to take his exam for the black belt in the legendary Shaolin monastery.

Stone toured China several times, most notably in 1996, to marry his wife in a traditional Chinese ceremony in her native Hong Kong .
