Jihad Muntasser

Jihad Abdussalam Muntasser ( Arabic جهاد المنتصر, DMG Ǧihād al-Muntaṣṣar , based on the English transcription Jehad Muntasser ; * July 26, 1978 in Tripoli ) is a former Libyan soccer player . He played mostly in the position of midfielder . He was part of the Libyan national team for eight years .

Muntasser started his active career in Italy with Atalanta Bergamo , from where he moved to Serie C for AC Pro Sesto in 1995. In the summer of 1997 he turned his back on Italy for the first time and moved to the reserves of the Premier League team Arsenal FC . After a year, however, he left London again and went to the English Football League Championship at Bristol City FC There played until winter 1998 and returned to Italy in January 1999, where he signed in Serie A with FC Empoli . In his first senior positions he did not get beyond the reserve role and moved to AS Viterbese Calcio in the Italian C1 series for the 1999/2000 season . After a season he moved to league rivals Calcio Catania . For the 2001/02 season he moved again within Serie C1 to L'Aquila . After only one season, Muntasser then moved to the Serie B club US Triestina , where he was regularly used for two seasons. For the 2004/05 season Muntasser then moved to AC Perugia . At the end of the season, the club was forcibly relegated, whereupon Muntasser moved to Treviso FBC in 1993 in Serie A , where he has only been a supplementary player since then. After two years he moved from Treviso to the Qatari club Al-Wakrah SC . However, he only played there for one year and returned to Al-Ittihad Tripoli in Libya in May 2008 . In summer 2010 he ended his active career.

National team

Muntasser was a member of the Libyan squad at the 2006 African Cup of Nations, where he played in 2 group matches. He played a total of 11 internationals for his home country.

Consultant career

After retiring in June 2010, he became a consultant at Al Ahli Dubai.
