Yekaterina Eduardowna Bikert ( Russian Екатерина Эдуардовна Бикерт ; born May 13, 1980 in Katschkanar ) is a Russian athlete who specializes in the 400-meter hurdles .

Career

In 2001 Bikert undercut the 60-second limit over the long hurdle for the first time in 57.61 seconds. After two weaker years, she improved her best time by almost four seconds in 2004 and qualified for the Russian Olympic team. At the Olympic Games in Athens , she finished sixth as the best Russian woman in 54.18 seconds after running 53.79 seconds in the semifinals. In 2005 the athlete , who started for SK Luch from Yekaterinburg , competed in the European Athletics Cup as in 2004 and finished second, as in 2004.

In 2006 Bikert was not active, but returned to the career in 2007; at the World Championships in Osaka , she was eliminated in the semifinals. In 2008 she won her only Russian championship title in 54.34 seconds. At the Olympic Games in Beijing , she qualified in 54.38 seconds for the final, in which she was sixth as the best Russian woman in 54.96 seconds, like four years earlier.

At a height of 1.77 meters, Bikert's competition weight is 68 kilograms.
