Jelena Pavlova ( Russian Елена Павлова , scientific transliteration Elena Pavlova ; born December 12, 1978 in Tashkent , then the Uzbek SSR of the Soviet Union ) is a Kazakh volleyball player .

Career

Pavlova started her career in Uzbekistan . In 1997 she moved to Almaty before moving to VBC Riom in France two years later . This was followed by positions in Spain at CV Tenerife (2004–2006) and until 2007 at VBC Voléro Zurich , before moving to Hisamitsu Springs in the highest Japanese professional league . In 2008 she took part with the Kazakh national volleyball team at the Olympic Games in Beijing , where she finished ninth.

Private

Jelena Pavlova is married to the Kazakh judoka Aschat Schitkejew .
