Jenkins is an impact crater on the eastern edge of the near side of the moon , west of the Mare Smythii , southwest of the crater Schubert , between its two secondary craters Schubert X and Schubert J stored. The crater is overlaid on the western side of Nobili .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1982 after the American astronomer Louise Freeland Jenkins .
