Jennifer "Jenny" Helen Jones, Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb (born December 23, 1949 in Brighton ) is a British politician with the Green Party of England and Wales .

She studied archeology at University College London . Before starting her political career, she worked in financial controlling and as an archaeologist for about ten years. She has been a member of her party since 1988.

She has been in the London Assembly for her party since 2000 . When she worked for the London Assembly, her main focus was on transportation, housing and planning, and police. From May 2003 to June 2004 she was Deputy Mayor of London. Jones was the only Green councilor on London-Southwark Town Council from 2006-2010 . According to a list in the 2011 Evening Standard, she is one of the 1000 most influential people in London . She ran for office as Mayor of London for the 2012 election, receiving the third largest share of the vote.

She advocated healthy eating for schools, hospitals and other public institutions. Likewise, it is for better nutrition for poor people. In view of homelessness and the high real estate prices in London, she was committed to affordable housing. It was able to achieve great progress in the area of ​​road safety, with a significant decrease in road deaths.

On September 20, 2013, she was raised to the Life Peer with the title Baroness Jones of Moulsecoomb , of Moulsecoomb in the County of East Sussex, and thus a member of the House of Lords . This makes her the fourth national parliamentarian in the history of her party, two of whom were decade-long members of the House of Lords who switched to the Greens, the other being Caroline Lucas , elected Member of the House of Commons .
