Jenny Unger , née Brauer , (born February 11, 1983 in Marburg ) is a German basketball player and trainer. She comes from a basketball family. Her parents played basketball, her brother played at TV Lich and her father Hans Brauer coached the BC Marburg first division team in the 2004/2005 season.

Player career

Jenny Unger learned to play basketball in Marburg and played there until 2006, most recently in the Bundesliga team at BC Marburg. After graduating from high school, she studied for 2 years in Edmonton ( Canada ) and played there with the Mac Ewan Griffins Edmonton . For the 2008/2009 season she returned to Marburg to the local first division club BC Marburg. There she was used in positions 2 ( Shooting Guard ) and 3 ( Small Forward ). For the 2010/2011 season, Jenny Brauer moved to the Bender Baskets Grünberg, the cooperation partner of BC Marburg, in the 2nd Bundesliga. For the 2013/2014 season she returned to BC Marburg and strengthened the regional league team.

Coaching career

As the trainer of the female U19 of TSV Grünberg, Jenny Unger won the German Cup in 2011, which is played in the female youth U19 instead of a German championship. In the 2011/2012 season, in addition to her playing activities, she coached the Mittelhessen team with her father Hans Brauer. In the 2012/13 season she was head coach of the Mittelhessen team, which competes in the female junior federal league and was composed of U-17 players from the teams of TSV Grünberg and BC Marburg. With the Central Hesse team, she became German runner-up in 2013.

Personal

Jenny Unger is married to Patrick Unger , who coached the BC Marburg Bundesliga team from 2013 to 2020 and the women's senior national team from 2018 to 2020, and has two children.
