Jens Esche

Jens Esche (born February 21, 1973 in Iserlohn ) is a former German ice hockey player who was active during his career for the ECD Sauerland and the Hammer Eisbären in the 2nd Bundesliga and 1st League North, respectively.

Career

Esche began his career at ECD Sauerland, where he had been in the squad of the professional team with which he played in the 2nd Bundesliga since the 1991/92 season . In Iserlohn , the offensive player was part of the regular squad and was also one of the most successful strikers of his team in the 1995/96 season with 33 scorer points in 43 league games. In the summer of 1996 he joined the Hammer Eisbären, with whom he rose from the then third highest division, the 2nd division north, to the second highest division, the 1st division north.

During the second season in Hamm , those responsible for the then fourth division club EHC Dortmund convinced him to be involved in the Regionalliga NRW . Esche was a member of the Elche squad until the end of the 1999/00 season and was able to score 176 points in 80 games during this time. With an average of 2.20 points per mission, he is one of the most effective scorers in the Dortmund club's history. He then signed a contract with ESC Hamm in 2000. After the club had to file for bankruptcy in 2004 , he left the club and laced up the skates for the second team of the Iserlohn Roosters in the Regionalliga NRW in the following two seasons .

His last career station was the Schalke Haie in the 2007/08 season, with whom he was able to win the championship of the state league, but then missed promotion to the association league. In the summer of 2008, he finally ended his ice hockey career at the age of 35. Jens Esche is currently only active in the Cannabis hobby team .
