Jens Nielsen (born March 29, 1918 in Blåhøj ; † between January 1 and 13, 2018 ) was a Danish motor sportsman and racing driver.

Life

Nielsen began motor sports in 1938 and was active in several classes both on motorcycles and in rally cars until 1992. His greatest success was winning the Coupe des Chevronnes (Old Boys class) at the Monte Carlo Rally in 1976. He also held the record for the most participations in the Monte Carlo Rally with 28 participations in the period from 1961 to 1992 to 2015 and to date has had the most participations of all Danish drivers. In 1992, at the age of 74, he was the oldest active driver of the Monte Carlo Rally of all time. He was also the oldest active golfer in Denmark until his death at the age of 99.

Jens Nielsen was buried in Silkeborg on January 13, 2018 .
