Jepifani Slawinezki

Jepifani Slawinezki ( Russian Епифаний Славинецкий ; * early 17th century; † 1675 , Moscow , Tsarist Russia ) was a Russian clergyman and scholar.

The origin and place of birth of Slawinezki is unknown. The first information about the life of Jepifani can be found in the archives of the Kiev Academy and the Chudov Monastery in Moscow. Slawinezki worked briefly as a teacher in Kiev until he was brought to Moscow in 1649 by the Russian Tsar Alexei I. There he was involved in various editing and translation projects of the Church Slavonic Bible .
