The Jermerstein (also the Jermerstein cliffs ) is a 703 m high and 300 m long rock formation north of Braunlage in the district of Goslar ( Lower Saxony ).

It is located between Königskrug and Braunlage near the Braunlage-Nord exit of Bundesstraße 4 . The Jermerstein cliffs consist of Hornfels . The nature reserve is accessible from the Steinweg via a path that leads to a lookout point. There are also two circular routes, each a little longer than 1 km.

The origin of the name is not clearly established. According to a legend, a robber named Germis is said to have had a cave in the cliffs where he stored his treasures.
