Jerrold Pete Mangliwan is a wheelchair racer from the Philippines who competed in the 2016 ASEAN Para Games in Singapore , the 2014 Para-Asian Games in Incheon and 2018 in Jakarta, and the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro . He starts in the starting class T52 .
Athletic career
Mangliwan fell ill with polio at the age of two and is paralyzed as a result of the disease . In 2009 he started wheelchair sports on the advice of a friend.
At the ASEAN Para Games 2016, Mangliwan won the gold medal in the 100-meter and 200-meter T52 races and the silver medal in the 400-meter T52 race. At the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro , he was the only athlete who could qualify for the Filipino team. He competed in the 100-meter and 400-meter races T52, where he started in the latter as third in his preliminary group in the finals, where he finished 7th.
