Jerry Calà (actually Calogero Calà , born June 28, 1951 in Catania ) is an Italian actor , screenwriter and film director .

Life

With Umberto Smaila , Nini Salerno , Gianandrea Gazzola and Mallaby Spray (the latter two were replaced by Franco Oppini in the late 1960s ), Calà formed the cabaret group Gatti di vicolo , which was based in Verona , where he had moved with his parents as a child Miracoli , with which he celebrated great success in Milan and made records.

After Carlo Vanzina discovered his film for the first time on television , Calà initially played purely comedic parts, which were later expanded to include films for a young audience, in which Calà mostly portrayed the likeable, idealistic but also success-oriented young man - similar to the audience that the films successfully aimed at. Since the 1990s, his appearances have been sparse; Calà works behind the camera more often.

Calà, who also released numerous singles with songs from his films, starred in the 1986 television series Professione vacanze and several times for the screen in the late 1990s. Occasionally he also takes on synchronous roles .

Calà has been married since September 2002; he has a son.
