Jerusalem Declaration

The Jerusalem Declaration is a confession of traditional Anglicans who have organized themselves in the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON). The declaration refers to the Holy Scriptures , which in the opinion of the signatories contain everything necessary for salvation . In addition, the first four ecumenical councils , the three Confessions, and the thirty-nine articles are considered to be the basis of Anglicanism. The Book of Common Prayer of 1662 as well as the Anglican Ordinal are also considered authoritative.

The declaration was adopted at the Global Anglican Future Pilgrimage and Conference from June 22-29, 2008, which was attended by more than 1,100 delegates.

In a reply to the statement presented to the Archbishop of Canterbury , Rowan Williams found that the contents of the statement in line with the beliefs of the Anglican Communion are. Williams, however, questions the legitimacy of the decision-making primates and criticizes the fact that the declaration was written in the "language of colonialism".

The declaration of Christian Zionism by the Patriarch and the local churches of Jerusalem is sometimes referred to as the Jerusalem Declaration .
