Jerzy Vetulani

Jerzy Vetulani (born January 21, 1936 in Kraków ; † April 6, 2017 there ) was a Polish biochemist , psychopharmacologist and neurobiologist .

Life

He was the son of Adam Vetulani and Irena Latinik-Vetulani . He was a grandson of Franciszek Latinik .

He received the Anna-Monika Prize (1982/1983), the Golden Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland and was a knight of the Polonia Restituta order .

During the last years of his life, he was a vocal advocate for the clearance of marijuana and other drugs to adults.

After he was hit by a vehicle on March 2, 2017 on his way home from his place of work, he was put into an "artificial coma" in the Kraków University Hospital due to his serious injuries . He later died in the same hospital.
