Jesús Olalde (born May 5, 1974 in Mexico City ), also known by the nickname El Mudo , is a former Mexican football player on the position of the striker .

Life

“El Mudo” Olalde began his professional career in the 1992/93 season with his hometown club Club Universidad Nacional , where he was under contract until the 1999/00 season and in whose ranks he was the top scorer of the Mexican football league with 15 goals in the 1999 winter tournament . In the same season he was also voted Footballer of the Year in Mexico .

Before the 2000/01 season he moved to the Tigres de la UANL , with whom he reached the finals against Pachuca in the first round tournaments of the 2001/02 seasons (Invierno 2001) and 2003/04 (Apertura 2003) , but lost in both cases .

He played his last first division games in 2006 for CF Atlante before ending his active career in 2007 with second division club Lobos de la BUAP .

National team

Olalde made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national team on October 27, 1999 in a game against Ecuador that ended goalless. He played his last international match on November 17, 2004 as part of the 2006 World Cup qualifying in an 8-0 win against St. Kitts and Nevis.

He scored one of his three international goals on June 7, 2000 against South Africa (4: 2), on July 1, 2000 against El Salvador (3: 0) and on March 19, 2003 against Bolivia (2: 0).
