Jesko is a male given name and a very rarely used family name.

It occurs as a first name in the extensive Puttkamer and Dohna families .

Origin and meaning

Jesko comes from Slavic , the name is short for Jaromir or Jaroslav . It means “brave, proud, tried in battle”. One variant is Jesco .

A connection with Polish rulers' names (see Mieszko I. ) cannot be ruled out.
