Jessica Keen

Jessica Lyn Keen (born September 24, 1975 - March 17, 1991 in West Jefferson , Ohio , United States) was an American schoolgirl and cheerleader who was the victim of a rape murder . The case gained worldwide fame, u. a. through the US crime series Unsolved Mysteries . The perpetrator could be determined in 2008 through the DNA analysis .

Criminal case

In the days leading up to the murder, Jessica Keen was in a boarding school . She tried to hitchhike the way home, presumably with a man she knew only briefly.

Jessica Keen was raped several times over a period of approximately six hours and was found dead two days later in Foster Chapel Cemetery, West Jefferson, Ohio , approximately 20 miles from the boarding school.

On April 9, 2008, 17 years after the crime, Marvin Lee Smith was arrested as a suspect . Smith, previously et al. a. For several years in prison for kidnapping, his confession avoided the death penalty and was eventually sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.
