Jeux de la Communauté
The Jeux de la Communauté was a sporting event that took place in Madagascar in 1960 .
The event emerged from an intercolonial school competition and was renamed when the Communauté française was created in 1958 . The following editions took place under the name Jeux de l'Amitié , as most of the colonies had become independent in the course of 1960.
The opening ceremony took place in the Stade Mahamasima in the capital Antananarivo . A total of 800 athletes took part in eight disciplines between April 13 and 19.
