Yevsei Yevseevich Moiseenko

Jewsei Jewsejewitsch Moiseyenko ( Russian Евсей Евсеевич Моисеенко * August 15 . Jul / 28. August  1916 greg. In Uwarowicze , Mogilev Governorate , today Belarus ; † 29. November 1988 in Leningrad ) was a Soviet artist, graphic designer and educator. Among other things, he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor .

biography

Moissejenko was born in the Russian Empire . In 1931 he studied art in Moscow . During the Second World War he joined the army and was briefly captured by Germany. After the war he started to devote himself to art.

Moisejenko died in Leningrad in 1988. His grave in the artist cemetery Literatorskije mostki of the Volkovo Cemetery in Saint Petersburg is adorned with a sculpture of his wife, the sculptor Valentin Rybalko (1918–1991), who is also buried there.
