The Jezioro Wielka Łąka (German: 'Große-Wiese-See') is a reservoir on the headwaters of the Wapienica , in the Polish Voivodeship of Silesia . It lies in the mountain range of the Silesian Beskids .

Behind the 23 m high dam the water which is Wapienica and smaller tributaries dammed. With full back which includes reservoir of 1.3 million cubic meters of water. The water area is then 0.24 km².

history

The decision to build the dam was taken in 1911. However, construction did not begin until 1929. The reservoir was finally flooded in 1932. It is used as a fresh water reservoir for Bielsko-Biała .

tourism

The lake is located in a strictly protected nature reserve. It is generally not accessible to tourists. However, it can be seen very well from various marked hiking trails on the nearby mountains.
