Jiří Kaloč

Jiří Kaloč (born October 22, 1943 in Sezimovo Ústí ) is a Czech painter.

Life

Kaloč graduated from the technical college in Hradec Králové in 1961 . Between 1966 and 1971 he worked at the Gallery of the Eagle Mountains in Rychnov nad Kněžnou and then studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague until 1976 .

In March 2005 the artist was awarded the European Franz Kafka Medal for his artistic and creative work in the fields of painting and architecture. On September 26, 2005, Kaloč was awarded an honorary diploma and the title of honorary member of the painting department of the academy by the National Academy of Arts and Culture Il Rombo in Aversa .

Kaloč lives in the municipality of Vrbice , where he was made an honorary citizen in 2003.
