Vrbice (German Weidenbusch ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers southwest of Rychnov nad Kněžnou and belongs to the Okres Rychnov nad Kněžnou .
geography
The place in the headwaters of the Vrbický potok is in the north of the Chotzener Tafel (Choceňská tabule) on the hill Kastel (444 m) between the valleys of the rivers Wilde Adler and Brodec.
Neighboring towns are Příkazy and Vyhnánov in the north, Mnichovství and Záměl in the north-east, Potštejn in the east, Proruby , Nové Litice and Lhoty u Potštejna in the south-east, Chleny and Chlínky in the south, Krchleby in the south-west, Svídnice in the west and Sucháwná-west.
history
The Slavic settlement of the area probably took place in the middle of the 13th century. In the opinion of August Sedláček , the place Casurgis , registered in the Geographike Hyphegesis by Claudius Ptolemy, is said to have been on Mount Kastel . It has been proven that at least one church stood on the hill in the 13th century.
Vrbice was first mentioned in a document on October 24, 1495 as a property of the Pottenstein lordship . At that time there were only two properties in the wooded village of Vrbice. With the expansion of the village, the forests were cleared.
In 1556, the lien holder of the neighboring county of Glatz , Ernst von Bayern , acquired the lordship of Pottenstein including Doudleby from Johann von Pernstein . Two years later, Ernst von Bayern sold the property to Wenzel the Elder of Okrauhlik and Groß Herrndorf, from whom Nikolaus the Elder of Bubna bought it in 1562 . He proposed Vrbice to the Doudleby lordship.
Until the replacement of the patrimonial rule in 1848, Vrbice remained subservient to Doudleby. The fire brigade was founded in 1888. In 1960 it was incorporated into Chleny, which was reversed after the Velvet Revolution in 1990.
