Olešnice (German Olleschnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located ten kilometers west of Rychnov nad Kněžnou in the foothills of the Eagle Mountains and belongs to the Okres Rychnov nad Kněžnou .
geography
The row village Olešnice stretches along the stream Olešnický potok in a right side valley of the Wild Eagles . The Malý Chlum hill rises to the southwest . The railway runs south from Hradec Králové to Kostelec nad Orlicí , where the Čestice railway station is located.
Neighboring towns are Hoděčín in the north, Ledská and Malá Ledská in the northeast, Hřibiny and Paseky in the east, Častolovice in the southeast, Čestice in the south, Lípa nad Orlicí in the southwest and Rašovice in the west.

Olešnice was first mentioned in a document in 1407.
Community structure
The community Olešnice consists of the districts Hoděčín ( Hodietschin ) and Olešnice ( Olleschnitz ).
Attractions
The Hoděčín Castle was originally a fortress whose owners changed frequently. From 1860 to 1874 Jaroslav von Sternberg converted it into a classicist palace. Today it is in dire need of renovation.
