Skuhrov nad Bělou (German Skuchrow an der Alba ) is a municipality in the Královéhradecký kraj region in the Czech Republic . It is located in the foothills of the Eagle Mountains in the Bělá Valley , seven kilometers west of the district town of Rychnov nad Kněžnou .
history
Skuhrov was first mentioned in the Chronicle of Dalimil in 1279 . At that time Skuhrov belonged to the Mutina of Dobruška . In 1310 it achieved the status of a town, in 1396 it was elevated to a town with the privilege of holding two annual fairs.
In 1387 it was owned by the brothers Jan and Jaroslav von Meziříčí, of whom it was Boček II of Podebrady and Puta D. Ä. von Častolowitz jointly acquired. Since Puta d. Ä. Skuhrov signed it over to his wife Anna von Teschen-Auschwitz in 1396 , it must have been in his sole possession at that time.
After the Hussite Wars Skuhrov fell to Zdeněk von Sternberg and then to the Bohemian King George of Podebrady . Wilhelm II von Pernstein acquired it in 1495 .
During the Thirty Years War , the city fell into disrepair. There was an economic boom only in the 18th century when an ironworks was put into operation in the village. With industrialization, trade and commerce came to the city.
