history

Krchleby was first mentioned in 1227 as a property of the local noble von Kirchles family. The trade route to Choceň led through the village , where there was a wooden fortress Ovčín . In 1227 the Hrabischitz acquired the place.

When the Kliment family acquired Krchleby, the place consisted of the fortress and four settler sites. Then Matthias Hložek von Žampach followed as owner. He sold Krchleby in 1544 to Otto / Otík von Bubna . In 1558, Wenzel Herzan von Harras acquired the village, which consisted of 15 farms, together with Pottenstein and added it to the rule.

In 1669 the Bukowsky von Hustirzan bought the place; In 1727 Johann Wenzel Rauss from Lipna followed. He sold the place to the Kinsky on Kostelec nad Orlicí . Until 1848 Krchleby remained part of the local rule. The inhabitants lived from agriculture, especially sheep breeding. The former fortress Ovčín was converted into a manor. In 1908 the wooden structure was destroyed in a fire. The volunteer fire brigade was established in 1890 .

In the second half of the 20th century, Krchleby lost its independence. It has been a parish again since 1990.
