history
Sedloňov was first mentioned in 1542 in the income register of the Opočno manor , which was then owned by the Trčka von Lípa family . At that time, Köhler and Aschenbrenner lived in the area. In addition, gold was mined. In 1598 the place was called the saddle there . At the end of the 16th century the land register of the Opočno manor shows 32 families in Sattel. After the death of Jan Rudolf Trčka von Lípa , all Trčka possessions were confiscated by the emperor in 1636.
In 1636 the brothers Hieronymus von Colloredo-Waldsee and Rudolf Hieronymus Eusebius von Colloredo-Waldsee acquired the confiscated rule of Opotschno and continued the recatholicization of the subjects, which had been carried out since 1628. In 1680 the wooden church, built in 1578, became Catholic again and St. Margarethe consecrated. It remained a branch church of Dobruška until 1704 when it was elevated to a parish church . In 1709 the construction of a stone church began at a new location. In 1749 the new rectory was built. During the Seven Years' War , Croats under Colonel Linnis plundered the area on the way to Glatz in 1758 . In 1775, regular schooling began for the 175 local children. The lessons were in German and the first teacher was Franz Roletschek from Gießhübel .
After patrimonial was replaced in 1848, Sattel became an independent municipality and from 1850 belonged to the Neustadt an der Mettau district administration . In the 1890s, the count had Colloredo -Mansfeld on Opočno Schier import from Norway and in 1897 the first factory for the production of skis was founded in the Eagle Mountains in the saddle. During this time, Sattel developed into his place of relaxation, which was popular as a summer resort in addition to winter sports. In the district of Schierlichhäuser (1010 m) there was a branch of the village school, which was the highest village school in Bohemia.
After the Munich Agreement , Sattel was incorporated into the German Reich and was part of the Grulich district between 1939 and 1945 . In 1939, 687 people lived in Sattel, including the districts of Aschergraben and Schierlichgraben and the single layers of Gründl and Steinberg.
