Dědina near Třebechovice pod Orebem

The Dědina (German Diedina ), also called Zlatý potok (German Goldbach ) on the upper reaches , is a right tributary of the Orlice in the Czech Republic .

course

The Dědina rises in the north of the Eagle Mountains in 766.5 m nm; its source is east of Polom below the Hohe Mense . The stream , also known as Polomský potok on this section , flows through Polom and then takes a southerly direction to Sedloňov , where the Zlatý potok or Sedloňovský potok joins.

In the following section, the Dědina is referred to as Zlatý potok . It flows in a south-southwest direction past the villages of Sněžné , Dobřany v Orlických horách and Bystré v Orlických horách to Doly and Kounov , where it takes in the Hluky brook. Via Žákovec, Kamenice and past Dobré , via Škutina and Polom, the further course leads to Roudné and Masty, where the river changes its direction to the north and then its water to the northwest between Lhota u Dobrušky, Podbřezí , Skalka, Chábory, Mělčany and Dobruška leads. The Skalka Castle rises above the river valley near Podbřezí .

In Chábory, a ditch, also called Zlatý potok (German Little Goldbach ), also called Opočenský náhon , is derived on the left, which reaches the valley basin of the Ještětický creek near Podchlumí and absorbs it. From the Zlatý potok or Opočenský náhon the Jalový potok is derived at Vodětín, which flows back into the Dědina at Městec .

Through Pulice, past the Opařišťský Mlýn and between Pohoří and Bohuslavice , the Dědina or Zlatý potok (German Great Goldbach ) flows westward to České Meziříčí , where the stream turns south and after the confluence of the other Zlatý potok ( from Opočno) German Kleiner Goldbach ) or Opočenský náhon is only referred to as Dědina.

Along the Dědina are the villages of Vranov, Městec , Klášter nad Dědinou , Ledce , Polánky nad Dědinou and Mitrov. The last tributary is the Alba ditch leading from the Bělá near Častolovice through the Hohenbrucker Tafel , also called Třebechovický náhon or Vantroka . In Třebechovice pod Orebem , the historic hill Oreb rises to the right over a bend in the river .

Below the town of Třebechovice pod Orebem the Dědina flows after 58.4 km at 236 m. ü. M. in the eagle . Its catchment area is 333.2 km²

history

In the Middle Ages, the Habelschwerdter Steig ( Bystřická stezka ) was an important trade route from Königgrätz via Deschney into the valley of the Glatzer Neisse through the valley of the Great Goldbach. To protect the trade route, a chain of six protective castles was built upstream from Chábory; small castles or fortresses were located at Chábory, Skalka, Kamenice, Kounov and Hluky, the upper end was formed by an unusually large castle complex near Dobřany , the name of which has not been passed down. In the 12th or 13th century the Cistercian monastery Heiligenfeld was probably founded by the Lords of Dobruška in the lower Goldbach valley .
