In the southeast lies the Biedowitzer Forest.

Neighboring towns are Jílovice and Vysoký Újezd in the north, Klášter nad Dědinou , Stránka and Ledce in the northeast, Újezdec and Lipiny in the east, Mitrov and Bědovice in the south, Třebechovice pod Orebem and Nepasice in the southwest, Blešno in the west and Cihelna and Jeníwest .

history

The first written mention of Polánky and the mill on the Dědina came in 1528, when Petr Šárovec of Šárov († around 1537) appointed his brother Jan's sons as heirs to the Ledce estate and the fortress . He had the new Srub fortress built for himself at Ledce. Thereafter, in the course of the 16th century, within the Vladiken family Šárovec of Šárov, further divisions of the inheritance took place, which led to the splitting off of the goods Srub and Jeníkovice. Polánky was probably split up in the process.

The list of subjects from 1598 shows eleven properties for Horní Polánky. Among them was the water mill owned by the miller Hlohovský. In 1598 the miller Hlohovský was listed in Horní Polánky's list of subjects, after which the mill was never mentioned again. At the beginning of the 17th century, Jan Rudolf Trčka of Lípa acquired the Jeníkovice fortress including the Ledce manor with the villages of Ledce and Horní Polánky, and he added the property to his rule Opočno . From Jan Václav Šárovec von Šárov, he also bought the Srub fortress with the villages of Stránka and Dolní Polánky in 1612. After the death of Jan Rudolf Trčka von Lípa, the Opočno domain was confiscated by King Ferdinand II and pledged to the brothers Hieronymus and Rudolf von Colloredo-Waldsee in 1635 . From 1789 the Counts Colloredo- Mannsfeld followed, who owned the estate until the middle of the 19th century.

In 1836 the village of Ober-Polanka in the Königgrätzer Kreis consisted of 22 houses, in which 128 people, including 74 Protestants, lived. The south-west adjoining village Unter-Polanka consisted of 27 houses and had 182 inhabitants, 114 of them were Protestants. The Catholic parish was Hohenbruck , the Protestant prayer house was in a monastery . Until the middle of the 19th century, both villages remained subject to the Opočno manor.

After the abolition of patrimonial , the two communities Horní Polánka (with Mitrov) and Dolní Polánka were formed in 1849 , both of which belonged to the judicial district of Königgrätz . From 1868 both communities became part of the Königgrätz district . The Protestants were repared from Kloster to Hohenbruck in 1870. In 1921, Horní Polánka and Dolní Polánka merged to form a municipality Polánky nad Dědinou . In 1927 the community had 402 inhabitants. In 1949 Polánky nad Dědinou was assigned to the Okres Hradec Králové-okolí; this was repealed in the course of the territorial reform of 1960, since then the municipality has belonged to Okres Hradec Králové. On June 14, 1964, Polánky nad Dědinou was incorporated into Třebechovice. The location Mitrov was later separated from Polánky and added to the main town Třebechovice. During the 1966–1967 regulation of the Dědina, wooden driving piles were found opposite the Ledetzer Hof, probably coming from the desolate Hlohovský mill. On March 3, 1991 the place had 195 inhabitants; in the 2001 census, 238 people lived in the 93 houses in Polánky nad Dědinou.
