Štěnkov (German Stienkow , 1939–45 Wolfshof ) is a district of the town of Třebechovice pod Orebem in the Czech Republic . It is located eleven kilometers east of the city center of Hradec Králové and belongs to the Okres Hradec Králové .

geography

Štěnkov located on the right side Orlice in the field of the natural park Orlice in the Orlické nivy ( Adlerauen ). North of the village runs the state road I / 11 between Třebechovice pod Orebem and Týniště nad Orlicí , behind it the Chlumec nad Cidlinou – Międzylesie railway . Štěnkov is surrounded by extensive pine forests; The Biedowitz game reserve ( Obora Bědovice ) extends north-east, and the Großbieltscher and Neudorfer forests to the south. Štěnkov was first mentioned in a document in 1406, when Hynek Hlaváč von Dubá left income from Štěnkov to the altarist at the All Saints' Day altar donated by his sister Anežka von Roudnice in the Hohenbruck church in place of the Roudnice benefice . From 1494 the village was called Čenkov . By order of the Linguistic Commission in Prague, the place name was changed to Štěnkov in 1921 . In 1927 the community had 211 inhabitants. 1949 Štěnkov was assigned to the Okres Hradec Králové-okolí; this was repealed in the course of the territorial reform of 1960, since then the municipality has belonged to Okres Hradec Králové. On June 14, 1964, Štěnkov was incorporated into Třebechovice. On March 3, 1991 the place had 174 inhabitants; at the 2001 census, 158 people lived in the 80 houses in Štěnkov. In the 20th century, an extensive holiday complex was built west of the village in the great loop of the Orlice, to which a narrow bridge over the river leads from Štěnkov.
