Nový Hradec Králové (German Neu Königgrätz ) is the largest district of the city of Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic in terms of area and population . It extends southeast of the city center of Hradec Králové and belongs to the Okres Hradec Králové . The core town is four kilometers south of the city center. The eastern part of the corridors includes the Königgrätzer and Smiřice forests.

Nový Hradec Králové is located to the left of the Elbe between the streams Biřička and Třebešský potok on the northwest slope of the Třebechovická tabule ( Hohenbrucker Tafel ). The Dubinka (283 m nm) and the Milířský Kopec ( Lhota , 285 m nm) rise to the south, and the Kopec sv. Jana ( Johannesberg , 273 m nm). The Königgrätzer Forst extends to the east and the Wysok Forest to the south. On the southern outskirts of the village in the Biřička valley are the Biřička and Cikán ponds, southwest of the Datlík. To the east of Nový Hradec Králové the Silnice I / 35 runs between Hradec Králové and Holice .

Neighboring towns are Malšovice in the north, Malšova Lhota , Svinary and Běleč nad Orlicí in the north-east, Štěnkov and Petrovičky in the east, Bělečko , Hoděšovice , Býšť and Hrachoviště in the south-east, Borek in the south, Vysoká nad Labec and Roudnička in the south-west. The establishment of the Königgrätzer suburb Neu-Königgrätz began in 1766 with the construction of the Königgrätz Fortress, for which the old suburbs were demolished. The first settlers of the settlement founded east of the Johannesberg on Hohenmauther Straße were the inhabitants of the Mauthner suburb, which was first demolished when the fortress was built. Later the residents of the Silesian suburb were also resettled. On October 17, 1769, the foundation stone for the new Church of St. Anthony the Great, the old church in the Silesian suburb fell victim to the fortress construction. The church was placed under the patronage of the Königgrätzer Magistrate and initially provided with a local chaplain. In 1774 the construction of the new suburb with a regular floor plan was completed. In 1785 Neu-Königgrätz, including the few houses in the vineyard ( Johannisberg ) near the church of John the Baptist, consisted of 184 houses.

In 1836 the suburb of Neu-Königgrätz or Nowy Hradec in the Königgrätzer Kreis consisted of 205 houses in which 1,598 people lived. Under the patronage of the Königgrätzer Magistrate stood the local church of St. Antonius Hermit and the School; there were also four inns and a hunter's house in the village. Neu-Königgrätz was the parish for the villages of Lhota podstranj, Kluk , Střebesch, Johannisberg, Raudnička and Wysoka , with the old church of St. John the Baptist on the Johannesberg was assigned as a branch church. Until the middle of the 19th century, Neu- Königgrätz remained subordinate to the Imperial and Royal District and Leibgedingestadt Königgrätz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Nový Hradec Králové formed from 1849 a municipality in the judicial district of Königgrätz . From 1868 the community belonged to the Königgrätz district . In the following year Nový Hradec Králové was raised to a minority. On April 1, 1942, it was incorporated into Hradec Králové.

In the second half of the 20th century the prefabricated housing estate Moravské Předměstí ( Moravian Suburbs ) was established, most of which is located in the area of ​​Nový Hradec Králové. On March 3, 1991 the place had 22,360 inhabitants; In the 2001 census, there were 1679 houses in Nový Hradec Králové with 24,331 people.

In the district are u. a. the complex of the Hradec Králové hospital, the Hradec Králové forest cemetery, the Hradec Králové Catholic parish and the piano manufacturer Petrof .
