Franz Kermer (master builder)
Franz Kermer (last name also Kerner, Kherner, Körner ; Czech František Kermer ) (* around 1710 in Saaz , † 1786 in Königgrätz ) was a Bohemian builder and architect . He is one of the most important East Bohemian baroque master builders in the middle of the 18th century.
Career
Kermer probably received his training from Josef Anton Gentsch in Saaz. Later he orientated himself strongly to the style of Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer , with which he was probably also connected. The church built by Kermer in Metličany has long been attributed to Dientzenhofer. In Königgrätz he worked as a city architect.
