history

Roudnička was probably founded at the end of the 11th century by the Opatowitz Monastery . The place name is a diminutive of Roudnice and derives from the old Czech word roudná ( ore ), in the Middle Ages there were some mining attempts in the area. The wooden Vysoká fortress was mentioned in 1080 on the Podzámčí hill . The last news about the Vysoká fortress comes from 1237. After the monastery was sacked and burned down by the Hussites under Diviš Bořek von Miletínek in 1421 , the town of Königgrätz took possession of the village.

The first written mention of Roudnička took place on April 4, 1465, when King George of Podebrady assigned the rule of Pardubice including the former monastery villages Vysoká , Březhrad, Stěžery, Roudnička and the Krivec forest to his sons Viktorin , Heinrich and Hynek von Munsterberg. In 1469 the town of Königgrätz had the Biřička dammed north of the village to the Roudnička pond. In 1472 the rule of Pardubitz fell to Heinrich von Münsterberg, he sold it in 1491 to Wilhelm von Pernstein . In 1513 the construction of the Opatowitz Canal started downstream from Roudnička and the Opatowitz weir was built.

After the citizens of Königgrätz, on the initiative of Lukáš Forman, otherwise Hostovský von Hostovice on the Kopec ( Johannesberg ) near Třebeš, had built a church in memory of Jan Hus , Jerome of Prague and other Bohemian martyrs, the subjects from Vysoká and Roudnička asked John of Pernstein for it Assigned to the local parish, as they had to cross the Elbe every time to attend the masses in Opatowitz . In 1535 Johann von Pernstein concluded a settlement with the Königgrätzer citizenship and assigned the tithe and taxes from both villages previously granted to the Opatowitz church to the new church of John the Baptist on the Johannesberg. Jaroslav von Pernstein sold the Pardubice reign in 1560 to King Ferdinand I. In the following period, Roudnička was separated from the Pardubice reign and added to the Königgrätz royal reign. During the Thirty Years' War the village was plundered and devastated several times, for example in 1637 by the troops of the imperial general von Hatzfeldt ; in addition, Swedish troops marched through the area in 1639, 1643 and 1645. In 1651 the desert village was not listed in the list of souls. In 1699, Roudnička had not been rebuilt, so the Königgrätz rulers considered demolishing the village. Roudnička was finally repopulated in the 18th century. In 1773 there were 20 houses in the village. In 1826 there were 21 houses with 184 inhabitants.

In 1836, the in was Hradec Kralove village located Raudnička of 22 houses, where 141 people lived. The parish was Neu-Königgrätz . Until the middle of the 19th century, Raudnička remained subordinate to the Imperial and Royal Königgrätz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Roudnička formed from 1849 with the district Kluky a municipality in the judicial district of Königgrätz . In 1857 180 people lived in the 27 houses of Roudnička. On the decree of the kk governor of February 9, 1866, Roudnička was retrained from Neu-Königgrätz to Vysoká nad Labem. On July 1 and 2, 1866, part of the Imperial and Royal Army camped in the fields near Roudnička before the battle of Königgrätz . The Borovina forest, which was cleared by the Austrian and later also the Prussian troops, had to be replanted. From 1868 the community belonged to the Königgrätz district . In 1880 Roudnička had grown to 30 houses and had 190 inhabitants. A tavern opened in 1885. In 1897 the municipality of Königgrätz had the desert pond Roudnička restored, and the dam was planted with oaks in 1904. The volunteer fire brigade was founded in 1905. The pond on the village square was repaired in 1909 using Königgrätzer fortress bricks. In the 1921 census, 589 people lived in the 82 houses in Roudnička. In 1922 the village was electrified. In 1924 Kluky broke away from Roudnička and formed its own community. On July 4, 1929, a windpipe caused severe damage to the community and the forests.

On October 1, 1950 Roudnička was incorporated into the city of Hradec Králové. Since May 17, 1954, Roudnička again formed its own municipality in Okres Hradec Králové-okolí, since 1961 it has belonged to Okres Hradec Králové. In 1963 there were 264 people living in Roudnička. On July 1, 1980 the new incorporation to Hradce Králové took place. On March 3, 1991 the place had 357 inhabitants; in the 2001 census, 525 people lived in Roudnička's 184 houses.
