history

Lhoty u Potštejna was created in 1953 by merging the municipalities of Velká Lhota and Malá Lhota.

Until the end of patrimonial rule in 1848, both villages belonged to the Kienwald rule and then became independent.

Velká Lhota

Velká Lhota was first mentioned in 1352 as Dobešova Lhota . The first proven owner of Dobešova Lhota was the noble family of Příbek von Ottoslawitz, from whom Jetřich Lipanský von Lipany acquired it. A fortress and a yard were built under his sons. In 1634 Dorota Lipanská sold her over-indebted property to Christoph Kyran von Bombaken. After Theresia Eleonora von Ugarte had acquired the property in 1690 , Velká Lhota became part of the Kienwald domain.

Malá Lhota

The first records about Malá Lhota come from the 15th century, which was then called Lipanská Lhota . In the 15th century it belonged to Jan Pešík and after his death in 1474 to his sister Ludmila. Through their marriage to Nikolaus Lipanský von Lipany, the place came to the Lipansky family. After Vojtěch von Pernstein (1490-1534) had acquired the place in 1526, he struck it to his rule Pottenstein . In 1559 Wenzel Okrauhlik from Groß Herrndorf bought Klein Lhota; after his death Nikolaus von Bubna inherited the property. Johann von Bubna acquired the rule of Kienwald in 1617 and joined Klein Lhota to it.
