Ji Jia

Ji Jia ( Chinese  吉 佳 , Pinyin Jí Jiā ; born January 22, 1985 ) is a Chinese speed skater .

Ji started her international senior career in 2004. In February of that year she started the World Cup in Inzell for the first time and took top places in the B group. She achieved her first outstanding result with the team. In November 2005, she took second place with Wang Fei and Zhang Xiaolei in Calgary . So far she has won races in the B group three times, but it was not until November 2007 that she came in ninth over 1500 meters in the top ten of the World Cup for the first time in Calgary.

In 2004 Ji competed in Seoul over 1500 (11th) and 3000 meters (16th) at the World Championships, a year later in Moscow in the Little Four Fighting (21st). She achieved better results at the Asian Championships. The best place there in 2005 was winning the bronze medal over 5000 meters in Ikaho . At the 2006 Olympic Games , Ji competed in three competitions. Over 1500 meters she was 22nd, over 3000 meters 25th and eighth with the team.

In national championships, Ji won the title in the small four-way battle in 2007. She reached the runner-up title in 2004 in the small four-way fight, over 1500, 3000 and 5000 meters, in 2006 in the small four-way fight and in 2007 over 1500 meters. She reached third places in 2007 over 3000 and 5000 meters.
