The Bee Gees were considered the most successful pop band in the world in the late 1970s after their success with Saturday Night Fever . Barbra Streisand asked Barry Gibb if he could write an album for her. As a result of this inquiry, the album Guilty was created in 1980 , which was composed by the Bee Gees - specially adapted to the vocal range of the singer - and also produced by their successful recording team. With over 20 million records sold, the album is the most successful of her career. Streisand sang the title song Guilty in a duet with Barry Gibb . The recording won a Grammy Award for best singing pop duo in 1981. The decoupled single Woman in Love also became the most successful single in Barbra Streisand's career and stayed at number one on the Billboard charts for 3 weeks .

Guilty Pleasures

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the album, Barry Gibb and Barbra Streisand met again to record a new record. This resulted in Guilty Pleasures with 11 new songs. Guilty Pleasures should not be a new edition of the existing Guilty album, but a new album in order to realize "what was actually planned with Guilty " (quote from Barry Gibb ). On the CD are 9 new compositions and two earlier compositions and versions by Barry Gibb: ( Letting Go ) and Andy Gibb : ( (Our Love) Don't throw it all away ). As the final version, Sony released a DualDisc with additional DVD material in 2005 . Guilty Pleasures - Dual Disc contains the songs on the CD side as well as interviews with Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb, as well as music clips on the DVD side. A classic audio CD without an extra DVD was also created .
