Jiangjunosaurus is a poorly known genus of dinosaurs from the stegosauria group , which was described in 2007.

From jiangjunosaurus only are far lower jaw , isolated parts of the skull, several neck vertebrae and individual bone plates known. The symmetrical and relatively wide tooth crowns were characteristic of the genus, otherwise hardly anything is known about this dinosaur. Presumably, like all stegosauria, it was characterized by a double row of bone plates on its back, moved quadruped and fed on plants.

The fossil remains of Jiangjunosaurus were discovered in the Shishugou Formation in the Junggar Basin in the Chinese Autonomous Region of Xinjiang and discovered in 2007 by Jia Chengkai et al. first described . The only known species and thus type species is J. junggarensis . The finds are dated in the Upper Jurassic ( Oxfordian ) to an age of about 163 to 157 million years.

According to the first description, Jiangjunosaurus is a relatively basal representative of the stegosauria . It is said to have been a little more developed than Huayangosaurus , but more primitive than most of the other representatives of this group. However, due to the scarce findings, such results are to be regarded as provisional.
