The Jiao Xi ( Chinese 交 溪 , Pinyin Jiāo Xī - "Jiao River") is a river in the southeast Chinese province of Fujian . It rises in the Donggong Mountains , which represent the watershed between the provinces of Fujian and Zhejiang . Its two arms, Dong Xi and Xi Xi (East River and West River) originate in the areas of the prefecture Taishun and Qingyuan County , after which they flow through Shouning and Zherong . They unite at Chengyang in the independent city of Fu'an , from there the Jiao Xi flows south through Haiqi and Xiabaishi into the East China Sea ( Formosa Strait ).
The Jiao Xi has a length of 162 kilometers and an area of influence of 5549 square kilometers, which is partly in the Zhejiang Province.
