Jill Vernekohl (born November 10, 1980 in Bochum ) is a German figure skater .

biography

Jill Vernekohl started ice skating when she was five years old. In 1998 she became German junior ice dance champion with Jan Luggenhölscher . The couple started for TSC Eintracht Dortmund . Shortly before the Junior World Championship in Oberstdorf in 2000 , the couple separated.

Her new partner was the Estonian Dimitri Kurakin . With him, Jill Vernekohl was twice German runner-up behind Kati Winkler and René Lohse . The first and last international title fight was the European Championship in 2002, when the couple had to give up injured after the original dance. Soon after, both runners ended their amateur careers .

Together with Kurakin she worked several times in "Musical on Ice" in Dinslaken . Today she trains the youngsters at ERG Iserlohn .
