Jim Hodder

Jim Hodder (born December 17, 1947 in Boston , † June 5, 1990 ) was an American drummer , known from the early days of Steely Dan .

Career

Before Steely Dan , he was the drummer and singer in the band Bead Game , who released an album entitled Welcome on the Fallout label in 1968 , on which all tracks were sung by Hodder.

In 1972 he became a member of the original formation of Steely Dan. On the first album Can't Buy a Thrill he sang the title Midnight Cruiser . After the albums Countdown to Ecstasy and Pretzel Logic , Hodder left Steely Dan in 1974.

In the following years he worked as a studio musician, among others for Sammy Hagar and David Soul .

In 1990 Hodder drowned in his swimming pool at the age of 42.
