Jim Scheuer

Jim Scheuer (* 1957 in Mishicot / Wisconsin ) is an American music teacher and composer.

Scheuer studied at the Lawrence Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin. His teachers included Glenn Nelson , band leader in his hometown, as well as Herb Hardt , Fred Schroeder and Robert Levy at the Lawrence Conservatory. Since the age of sixteen he has worked as a singer, keyboard player, arranger and MIDI programmer in various rock and dance bands.

Scheuer has been teaching band music in the Owen-Withee school district since 1980, and has also worked for the Wisconsin School Music Association since 1982 and is a member of the Wisconsin State Honors Band and the Honors Orchestra . In 1992 he was named Teacher of the Year at Owen-Withee Junior and Senior High School. He has composed works for wind ensemble (including I Want to Be Ready , Shadoe Play , Two Native American Songs ) and percussionists ( West African Drum Ensemble ).
