Jizhou kiln
The Jizhou kiln ( Chinese 吉 州 窯 / 吉 州 窑 , Pinyin Jízhōu yáo , English Jizhou kiln ) was a ceramic kiln from the late Tang period to the late Yuan dynasty . Its heyday falls during the Southern Song Dynasty . He is famous for his black porcelain with turtle shell glaze ( 玳瑁 釉 , dàimàoyòu , English Turtle shell glaze ), his leaf and paper cut decorations .
It is located in the large community of Yonghe in Ji'an County , which belongs to the administrative area of the district-free city of Ji'an in the Chinese province of Jiangxi . Ji'an was formerly called Jizhou. After the place Yonghe it was also called Yonghe kiln ( 永和 窯 / 永和 窑 , Yǒnghé yáo ).
Some of his products are on display in the Jiangxi Provincial Museum Ceramics Collection and the Ji'an Museum .
The Historic Site of the Jizhou Kiln ( 吉 州 窯 遺址 / 吉 州 窑 遗址 , Jízhōu yáo Yízhǐ ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-57) since 2001 .
