Joachim Heinrich Pries , also Joachim Heinrich Pries I , (* 1681 ; † 1763 ) was a German merchant, councilor and mayor in Rostock.

Life

Joachim Heinrich Pries was a Rostock merchant, a member of the Senate and treasurer around 1714. From 1731 he was a councilor and after 1751 he was elected mayor of Rostock.

Pries was married to Dorothea Elisabeth Wulfleff (1694-1716) from Neubrandenburg in his first marriage. From September 1717 he was married for a second time to Katharina Margarete Meusling (1698–1733) and after her early death in third marriage to Margarethe Dorothea Krauel (1708–1763). The first marriage came from the sons Johann Friedrich Pries (1710–1781), cloth merchant in Rostock, married from 1740 to Margaretha Elisabeth Quistorp (1721–1795), daughter of Johann Bernhard Quistorp , Dr. med., rector and city physician in Rostock as well as the eponymous Joachim Heinrich Pries (1714–1763), Lutheran theologian and professor at the University of Rostock . The son from the second marriage, Johann Gabriel Pries (1724–1788), became a master's degree, teacher and principal at the Güstrower Gymnasium.
